Happy 2nd Birthday!

2008-07-24-2nd birthday party
It had been exactly 2 years since I’ve started blogging.
Well, pretty much had happened and changed in this blog.
1)  My blog’s url had changed from xiaopop.blogspot.com to kingsleylee.blogspot.com and to the present kingsleylee.com, my very own custom domain name, courtesy of my bro.
76764
2) Blog posts had changed from short and lame posts to longer and more interesting posts. (I guess)
42545
3) Visitors to this blog had increased steadily. Flags from countries all around the world also increased.
6746
4) Pictures quality and size in every posts had been enhanced and enlarged.
From this:
8_thumb[1]  ----> to this:
8_thumb[1]
5) The earnings of my blog is slow but still increasing bit by bit.
699
All these improvements are thanks to all the visitors and fans of this blog who had been supporting this blog and visiting it frequently. Nevertheless, the comments and suggestions that you all gave indeed boosted me to further improve my blog and to satisfy all readers.
e4646
Therefore, in collaboration for my blog’s 2nd anniversary, I decided to form a team of 4 and set up a subsidiary food blog.

This mean that my blog will have less food posts in the future, most of them will go to the food blog.
It is still under construction, the soft launching was a few days back. We will further improve prior to the grand opening on 27th July 2010. A month after this blog’s birthday!
Opinions or suggestions of this food blog or if you want to be a sponsor, kindly email the team at Nuggetscale@yahoo.com!
Finally,a special thank you to Malaysia Airlines, for having such a soothing theme song, which I chose as the cover song in my ITouch,  which gained so much compliments from almost all the visitors to this blog!

Plane Spotting (Day 1)

Went for plane spotting(my hobby) twice during the two weeks long holiday, here are the best shots of Part 1 which is also Day 1.

Well, this time I’ve made sure that the battery pack of the DSLR is fully charged before the journey to KLIA starts, and also the 200mm lens is equipped for better close ups.

1

en-route to KLIA, spotted a rare Lotus :D

2

Finally there! Excited!

 3

First shot at the viewing deck. 5 in 1 shot! According to the tails, from the left: MAS B777, Silk Air A320 taking off, Gulf Air A340 taxiing for take off, Iran Air and Air Zimbabwe docked at their gates.

4

Qatar Airways being pushed back to Doha. Glad to know that they are introducing Doha-Kuala lumpur-Phuket this October!

5

The mini Garuda B737-400 from Jakarta and Mataram.

6

Biman Bangladesh AB6 to Dhaka.

7

THAI Airways A330 from BKK. I love their livery very much, maybe because they used my favourite colour, purple!

8

MAS B747 taxing to her gate after landing. Might be taking this for my trip to London in the near future!

9

MAS A330. It reminded me of my bird to Beijing last year.

10

The on-going construction of the new lcct.

11

Easier connectivity between the MTB and LCCT soon, just located next to the Bungan Raya Complex!

DAY 1 was short because of the time restriction I had. More shots on day 2 in the next post!

May

Its time to blog about the busy month of May whereby I’ve been hiatus from blogging.

Before that, the last post about my trip report to Singapore is fully updated.  Part 1,2 and 3 is available at the previous post. Visit this link  to the TRIP REPORT.

1

Enjoy!

So basically, I’ve been busy with 3 main events during the whole month of May.

1st up,

The school level teacher’s day celebration:

I’ve been assigned to be the official photographer for the event. Besides that, I’m performing in the mini concert via my band on the same day.

7

Photographing was made easier with this Canon 200mm DSLR!

I’ve been practising and rehearsing hard for the concert after passing an audition.

4

Most of the time were spent with my keyboard. I’m the keyboardist in my band- ALLBOYZONE.

5

The rest of my band, 7 of us all together. We performed I’m yours by Jason Mraz.

The video of the performance is available HERE!

6

Me on the day of the performance. Not showing off my height of course, its just the angle of this shot!

2nd event,

Catching up with the journey of the new Miss Universe Malaysia from the beginning until the crowning of the new queen!

I really liked the latest format of the pageant with the new slogan, HIP URBAN RELEVENT REAL!

Good job to team MUMO and the hottest National Director, Andrea Fonseka!

This year’s winner is Nadine Thomas, standing at 173cm! I was rooting for Gail but I'm still happy with the judges choice.

Nadine is indeed a great material for Miss Universe! She has the fierce look that perhaps may catch Donald Trump’s attention! :D

With some intense grooming by Andrea, I’m sure she’ll surprise us or maybe not on August 23rd in Las Vegas!

3K to Singapore

PART 1: KUL-SIN Sector

Carrier: Jetstar Asia Airlines
Aircraft: Airbus320
Aircraft Registration No: 9V-JSD
Route: Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Singapore (SIN)

Went to KLIA via airport limo at 6am. Reached KLIA at 7pm for the 0840 hours scheduled flight.

16

3K 684.

8

Check-in.

1

Stickers  for the non-check in baggage too!

17

19

Code shared with Qantas? o.O?

Went to the satellite terminal right after checking in. Gate C23 is located in the Satellite Terminal.

5

The very busy ground staff at the transit desk.

6

Look at the queue, I guess they are those stranded passengers due to the volcano eruption last week as there was two flights to London that day, 1 replacement flight I supposed.

Burger King for breakfast because of the awesome runway view.

18

Greeted by this Garuda B737 which was pulling back to Jakarta and also a line up of AK’s A320. Busy morning for KUL.

3

AK rolling down the runway and more lining up for departure.

4

The latest livery in  Air Asia’s fleet of birds. Promoting Junior Jet.

7

Proceeded to my gate after that.

9

Birds around my gate. CZ to Guangzhou, MH to London, IR to Teheran.

My bird only appeared at 0830.

10

Due to the delay, I decided to spot some planes at my strategic boarding gate where the runway was clearly visible with departures of all kinds of birds.

11

Air Asia X lifting off.

13

Soon the push back truck arrived. Such a massive one for this small A320.

And thumbs up was gave by the pilot after the check.

12

Boarding was called at 9:20

14

A very tight seat pitch but ok for this super short flight.

22

Due to some refuelling difficulties, our departure was delayed further.

20

3K’s in-flight magazine and menu to pass time.

Courtesy of Jetstar for the hour long delay, free sky juices was served.

23 .

FA distributing the sky juice.

24

Sky juice courtesy of Jetstar.

At 1015, we rolled down the runway and started cruising into Singapore.

25

View of the land of the new LCCT

26

Great to see the whole view of KLIA with  the clearing of land for the new LCCT.

Did not eat for this flight as there was no time.

Planned to add my collection by buying this but they did not sell it due to the reason: “It is a very short leg, we don't sell them”.

21

They should have their products on every flight!

Very shortly after take off, we descended into Singapore’s Changi.

33

And landed at 1050 local time.

34

Jetstar uses terminal 1 and therefore we docked at Terminal 1.

27

Immigration clearance was done swiftly.

29

Landed. 3K 684 from Kuala lumpur.

28

Baggage collection.

30

After that, proceeded to the ground transport desk and took my hotel’s shuttle bus to my  hotel.

31

Grand Mercure Roxy’s shuttle bus.

32

PART 2: My accommodation

Stayed at the Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel for my  2 days 1 night trip.

1

Big king sized bed for this room. ^^

I love this hotel very much, it is near to airport, it cater to all hotel guests free shuttle bus to and from the airport.

7

My hotel room was located facing the sea, that means free view of cargo ships and also AIRPLANES which are descending in Changi! AWESOMENESS!

4

View from my hotel room, without zooming in.

3

With the help of my 200mm DSLR, a not bad picture of a Lufthansa A340 descending from MUC or FRA perhaps.

If only I have a 400mm lens.

2

Definitely recommended to those who prefer a hotel near to the airport!

<Tour around Singapore: Latest attraction!>

6

Excited!

But luck was not on my side!

5

FML! Guess I’ll come back here during my next trip.

PART 3: SIN-KUL Sector

Date/Day: 25 April 2010/Sunday
Flight Number: 3K 689
Carrier: Jetstar Asia Airlines
Aircraft: Airbus320
Aircraft Registration No: 9V-JSE
Route:Singapore (SIN) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL)
Departure Time: 1650 hours (GMT +8) [STD: 1650]
Arrival Time: 17:40 hours Singapore time (GMT +8 ) [On-time]

Journey: 40 Minutes
Class of Travel: Economy Class

9

Checked in at the newly renovated Terminal 1. Only a partial of the terminal is upgraded.

8

FREQUENT FLYER?! :D

10

Toured around Terminal 3 by myself while waiting for boarding.

11

SQ B777-300ER!

12

3K just landed! Notice the smoke at the front landing gear?! :D Probably the one taking me to KUL.

Proceeded to my gate after having brunch at Delifrance T1.

13

Hey! The same gate as the one I flew from KUL. An A380 capable gate! Huge seating area.

15

Just in time!

14

My bird to  KUL!

16

A Kingfisher on tow to Terminal 3 I guess.

17

Taxied passed the control tower and Crowne Plaza.

18

Lift off!

It was a pretty uneventful flight. Slept during the flight. 2 days trip are often tiring. Imagine flying twice in 36 hours!

19

Landed at KLIA. The construction site of the new permanent LCCT!

20

Ended my trip with a stop at KLIA’s satellite's terminal NOODLES shop for this beef ball noodle! My favourite!

The trip was lethargic but I enjoyed it. 3K is definitely not as good as AK. Their food on board has few choices, duty free items not sold on short flights? The only reason I would choose them is because they fly from the main terminal and uses skybridges. They still have room to improve, in order to be on par as AK (Skytrax voted Best LCC!)

To all flyer-talk(ers), thanks for viewing my report and I'm happy most of you enjoyed my second trip report. :D

Thanks for all your credits and compliments  too!
